What is simpleCal?
simpleCal is a simple calendar application for Wikidot created by Kenneth Tsang (tsangk). It's designed to be a simplified version of the original Calendars @ Wikidot application by James Kanjo and the Wikidot Community. This new version uses:
- New save-and-refresh mode in NewPage module
- CSS3 transitions and :target pseudo class
- the fixed [[date syntax allowing future dates
- the Wikidot API for generating calendars automatically
Limitations
- simpleCal can not be placed within a module
- pages with simpleCal may take longer to preview
- only dates between 1970 — 2080 are supported. More years will be added on request.
Installation
simpleCal was designed to be easy to install - with only one setup step. To get started:

Acknowledgements
A big thank you to James Kanjo for his on-going suggestions and bug-finding skills. Without his contributions, some awesome features (like the popup) would not have worked!
